Bulova 1972 Chronograph

1972 Bulova Chronograph E as found in excellent condition.

Look closely, this is not the F variant that we've got a couple examples of already but this one is the E.  The differences are several, most notably the reverse dial colors but interestingly enough this watch was NOT sold on a bracelet like the F, but on a strap (FROG no less!).  Both variants were produced one year only, 1972 and feature the Heuer Buren Hamilton caliber 12 micro rotor automatic chronograph movement with a date complication. The three companies came together in 1969 and introduced what Hodinkee calls one of the most important moments in the history of watches.  The Bulova 14 EAFD is (as far as I can tell) the second iteration (caliber 11 being the first). Some of the most collectable watches of the era from Heuer Omega and Hamilton brands featured this movement.  In fact, Tag Heuer STILL uses it in their iconic Monaco watches (my 2018 tag Monaco is featured below). If the F variant is a bit of a rare bird, the E is even more so.  I've only even a handful over the years. I am SUPER excited to add this one to my collection!  Here and Here are the two F variants I've owned.
