Watch Description

Bulova Mono-pusher 'Telemetre' chronograph with a Landeron 11 movement in a tonneau nickel chromed case. It appears to be in totally original condition, near NOS I would say with the exception of some light wear on the case. The movement has been serviced by the previous owner and runs well. The 15 jewel movement is marked with a '58' below the balance wheel.

Well this is a first. Can you advise how you determined 1935?

This one has me stumped and I'm looking forward to discussing the merits of this watch.

I should have clarified it's an approximate date - based on this spec sheet I found for the Landeron movement: https://www.time2tell.com/en/swiss-calibres/83-landeron-11-v1935.html

However I just came across this other sheet from an Italian forum: https://upload.forumfree.net/i/ff3946223/Screenshot_2019-10-14_Formwerke_12_.png

Hope this helps. I've seen a few unbranded or lesser known brands use this unsigned movement, but this is the only Bulova I've seen with full signatures on dial, case and bridge.

A few reference sites have the 'Landeron 11' listed as a 1940s movement (1945 in a few listing). This wouold seem appropriate. The case certainly has a 1930s feel and look about it, but I could see it being used to house a tonneau shaped movement.

The stamping on the case is a first for me as well.

WOWSER!!!!   It is rare that I am total stumped on a watch but gosh this is a true unicorn.   I had always thought Gallet had the only non-round chronograph movement but now I see that is not true.   Curious on the 58 on the plate below the balance.  Makes me wonder if this could be as late as 1958.   Unkown for me and now a new one for my bucket list.  Thank you for sharing.

Which country was this found in and does anyone recognize that case hallmark?

Found in NYC, though all I know is that the owner before the seller I got it from was a collector. I've been trying to decipher the Hallmark as well, but no luck so far.

Please send this watch to my house immediately and plan to never see it again.  I'll send you my bank login, take as much as you want.  I see the words "rare" and "very rare" in watch listings all the time. This may well be one of the three, maybe 4 truly "rare" Bulova watches I've ever seen.

I'm going to forward this to Rev Rob to get his thoughts......My guess is also late 30's early 40's.

My goodness is that awesome.  I have never seen it before.  Truly wondering if it's a prototype.  So cool... Unknown.
