L1 = 1971 Date King - 10K Rolled Gold Plate Bezel - Stainless Steel Back - I'm going to agree with Fifth on his Date King same watch as this.
Those 1971 Sea Kings were pretty sharp IMO. They seemed to have a good designer at that time.
Both of these watches are pretty sweet looking actually.

I agree, I was going to bid on your watch but the black dial sucked me in. I am looking for a whale that I have seen only once & still kicking myself for not bidding on it. If ya see one let me know. Any color dial will do. The number 12 just facinates me.

Wayne,
'DATE KING'

no Date display on the 'SEA KING'.
In reply to Wayne, 'DATE KING' no Date by FifthAvenueRes…
the dreaded "red X"
The watch centre left in this 1972 ad is described as a Clipper, but on the dial it says Sea King, and not only has date, but day too.

This will be either a Sea King or a Clipper.
No Date King ads post 1969,.
Based on this 1971 Line Book listing BAWD0178 I am thinking we need to change this to a Clipper. seems to be a match except for Sea King on the dial and bracelet. No strap version is shown in the line books.
