I came across a different dial, not sure if its the propper one for 1954, but it fit and looks good.
Not sure about the dial... should say SELFWINDING?
Jeff is right, the dial should have self-winding printed on it, also the markers a different than the 1953 Clipper that I have with a 10CSC movement. The back of the case should say water tite and self-winding on it.
Pictures of the back and movement will be needed to confirm.
thank you for the information, the dial seem to be re-done the back says water tite and self-winding , shock resistant & anti magnetic on it, L4 serial # 7397973
Dial is identical to 1954 "unknown", posted by Jim Townsend. Possible newer dial variant.
@ bobbe you are right it seems to be the same dial. still not sure if it is the correct one.
Tentative from me for now... 2 ticks Zappatore, can you confirm the movement model (caliber) for the watch? Please ...and thanks for entering a "?" in that field while it remains unknown. Nice watch.
Even though the dial is slightly different, still a Clipper for me, as long as the movement is correct.
I have simular watches in various years (1952-57) and sizes that have that Identical dial. I have one posted with a sunburst that had that dial, had to change it out due to its condition.
I have a 52 like yours with the same movement but it reads L2. I can't read the movement, is it L4 ?
does anyone know the part number for the ruber gasket ? i kow the one that is in there is wrong, condensation gets in the dial from wrist sweat,
thank you for any help.
