Another one of my "what the heck is that?" purchases. Dial is matte gray around the outside with a polished gray textured center. Indices are yellow with a dot of lume. Band appears it could be original and watch is overall a 9 out of 10 and keeping time. M0 dated movement is like a mirror.
Watch appears in the 1961 linebook, but not in 1960. In 1962 it appears to have experienced a dial change to become a member of the Jet Clipper line. There were 4 versions of this watch in 1961, this appears to be the Calendial "BW". This one is a first for me (and the database), and when compared to the single example of the "AW" in the database, it's obvious this is the gray dial "BW" version.
Ad shows a magnifier crystal, subject watch sports a regular replacement. Based on research, I have to believe this is a one, maybe 2 year production "hen's teeth" watch.

I am inclined to think this is a Calendial "AW". I believe the gray dial is dark gray center on the BW. This dial looks like the silver dial to me.
hmmm, a black and white photo of the watch doesn't help much determine the difference beween a standard version and the "gray dial' verison.
The dial does looks grey to me, but so does the case color.
Bob, having the watch in hand, I'll leave it to you to determine what you think it is.
1960 Bulova Calendial
This one was really hard to photograph. Dial outer ring is bare metal and matte gray with some reflective shine. I assume it's stainless like the casing with a different surface finish.Inner circle is darker gray and reflective as well. The contrast between inner and outer areas is quite striking in person. If you google "matte gunmetal gray" and look at photos of cars, you will get a pretty good reference to the colors of the dial.

Great dial on this one. Almost has a kaleidoscope design on the center. I think this would be gray but will leave that final decision to Bob.

The more I think about it I think I saw one of these with a white dial so this is most likely the gray dial version.
Great photo of the dial and would agree with it being a gray dail.
