Thin front load case unopened by me. Manual wind 23 jewel movement. Back marked with "L9", S/N, Bulova,10k RGP, Waterproof and Pat Pend. Based on available ads in the database, I am confident this is a His Excellency "A". Excellent condition and keeping accurate time.

In reply to big discussion in this by jabs
Thanks Jabs, missed that thread during research somehow. So based on the convoluted conversation of that thread, this watch on alligator is either an "A" or "EW", which appear to be the same watch with a designation letter change based on date of production ?
So for that great discussion (loved those old chats we use to have), the only descriptive difference between the 'A' and the 'EW' was the mention of an 'Alligator' strap, versus a leather strap.
As the 'A' variant was usually assined to the first series, I'm more inclined to go with the 'EW' variant here with this watch.
So it's a 1959 Bulova His Excellency 'EW' for me, based on the 1958 advert
I'm going along with His Excellency EW.
