I think you hit this one on the head. 1958 Bulova His Excellency "B"

Hi Don, welcome to myBulova. Watch bands that have 'self adjusting" springs are the bane of my existence, they have ruined many a beautiful lug. I agree that your watch is a 1958 Bulova His Excellency B
1958 Bulova His Excellency "B" it is. Curious about the addition of the WATERPROOF above the sub-second and if this was normal and only used short term.

There are two watches at this site ( C D019137 and C D451643 ) under His Excellency "D" that have the circular round water proof labels like this model "B", but the body design appears to be model "B" not model "D". The prongs are different. Maybe it was made just when they started adding that round water proof label which is a possibility. I'm not sure, because there are also model "D"s that have no round water proof on the face. Who knows except maybe Bulova?! Maybe they made both models "B" and "D" without that round label, and then made both with the label after a certain date in 1958.
