Bulova Stars & Stripes Chrono crown and hacking or not?

Hello, I am new to this forum although have been around another watch forum for several years now.

Anyway, I have 2 questions relating to my Bulova Stars & Stripes Chrono; does anyone know where I might source the correct crown and should the 7736 movement be "hacking" or not?

Thanks

Dave

Another Bulova Clock

Submitted by Timemachines on

Hi Guy's

I thought I would share one of my clocks with you. It is a cool old Bulova clock from maybe the 40's?

It is mounted on the front of my house. This is the only pic I could get as there is two foot of snow in my way to get a better pic of it.

I collect old neon advertizing clocks and I have 8 of them in my home that are all clock or watch advertizements. All are old except one, that I made and it is a Bulova advertizement too.

Stamford VS Aviator

Submitted by simpletreasures on

I'm opening up this discussion again because I don't feel we're any closer to resolving the issue of ID'ing the difference between these two watches. I recently purchased what I thought was a "Stamford" only to discover that my watch and the "Aviator" are what appears to me to be identical. Note: I haven't received my watch as yet, but based on the pics and ID marks they seem to be identical. As much as I appreciate the Bulovas of the 20's, 30's, and 40's I'm begining to think they are no different than what the old auto makers used to do by mixing and matching misc.

American Clipper

Submitted by spiro13 on

Hi

I picked up this American Clipper, which members verified for me, for $16. Added a crystal and it runs fine. I want to put a new watch strap on it. The lugs measure 13mm which puts it in the ladies watch category. I would appreciate some advice on the type of strap that would fit and look good.

Thanks

Tony

Another Unknown Bulova

So, I've added my first Bulova to the database - the 1940 Beacon - and now have two more being shipped to me.

The first I'm having trouble identifying. Does anyone recognize this?

The second is a 1974 Caravelle: (Edit: Removed)

Is there any reason there aren't any Caravelle watches here on the site? Should it not be added to the database?

This watch is white gold and has a double diamond band going all the way around the band with a safety chain on the back of it.  The back of the watch reads 14 K Gold with Bulova underneath.  The numbers appear on the back at the opposite end .

I have no idea on this watch and just put 1940 as the date.

Your help here is greatly appreciated.
