1948 Bulova watch.

Submitted by el tel on

The watch below has a 10BC 17 jewel swiss movement marked 1948. The case is in rose gold and marked Bulova quality , number 6019052 , no mention of gold content.  The case looks like a 1943 Brewster or a later 1945 Gedney. The face of the watch looks like a 1944 Alderman which has a 10BC movement. Both the case and the watch face are in excellent condition and the movement is working. Bizarely the second hand has eith been painted red or replaced.

I hope this is not another custimized watch .  :-)

The "VARIANT"

Submitted by FifthAvenueRes… on

Yes, I'm bringing it...

Far too many Watches are being entered into the database labeled as a variant while not matching the ad showing what the variant is.

What is a variant? - A variant is known Model in a very specific configuration.

If a Watch entering the database is not configured exactly the same as the variant depicted in the ad how can it be the named variant ??????

Your very best answers please Boys and Girls, I'd love to hear them.

Luminous Dial

What does luminous dial mean? You have hands and hour markers but if the hour markers are gold or chrome how do you have a luminous dial? Is it the dial itself ? And one more question who was supplying watch bands to Bulova in the 40's,50's and 60's. I'm sure there are a few but just the major contributors.

anyone know where i can get a shock absorber for a bulova 11al/Kif-Flector without buying a whole movement??
