Thanks for the comments. I did find another 1972 with the same color blue on the face. So it must have been some kind of factory color, as opposed to a custom.
My watch has scratches on the acrylic crystal. It's really noticeable in the sunlight. I ordered a set of micro mesh sanding pads. I'm going to try to restore the crystal. Has anyone else tried this? Any tips before I start? I think the pads start at 1500 grit and go to 12000. I may use some Meguires PlasX plastic polish after the 12000.
