Kathy helped me identify this watch before I bought it. It came with an ugly 70's band. It just so happened that a few days before, I bought an Elgin, by mistake, and it had this band on it. How serendipitous. Someone from the Facebook group identified it as going with the His Excellency. The band isn't in good enough shape to wear but it will be on it until I get the movement working again. Geoff Baker posted a "UU" ad in the comments of the 1948 "UU" submitted by ncmountie in 2018. I ran out of spots to ad pictures so I chose the ad that shows the band best.
The band looks fantastic, congrats on finding it! Like this one https://www.mybulova.com/watches/1948-his-excellency-uu-696

I just acquired a ‘48 His Excellency “SS” with a stunning band that I thought was identical to this one but in better condition. I discovered it’s not the same but it does match the ad and the band I have with this watch is similar to the ad but not an exact match. See my His Excellency “SS” to see the band in the ad.

The crystal on my watch is not correct. The ads show a two faceted crystal separated horizontally across the center. Like this one.

The correct crystal is G-S CMX 326-35G
