I have been looking to get one of these for years! Solid silver early early men's Bulova.
.925 and a standing lion Hallmark.
There are a three 1924 ads showing Stirling silver options for men's watches with this dial.
For a 1924 watch I think we have a "39744"
This guy has a hinged case.

As previously posted by TexasLady, showing the 38743 renamed to Dorsly.

1924 Bulova Dorsly works for me!
Boy, I don't know about Dorsly. Looks to me like lugs are different (straight vs. angled). Case corners look different as well. 45 degree line vs. smooth.
Sorry, but I am still at unknown.
Yeah the more I look at this the more I'm no longer sure. Now that we have another example to compare with, there are some obvious differences which wear would not account for....i.e. the angle of the outter lug line.
The subject watch seems to maintain a straight line from tip to tip, were as the other example and the advert both show a definite angle.
I think I have to back-track and agree with you Bob...this may just be a model we have yet to come across in an advert.
I think I missed the angle (or lack thereof, as well) Looks like it's going Unknown.
I think we're at Unknown as well gents.
What about the silver version of the 3974, which might make it the 3973. The lugs look curved like the subject watch, but I'm unsure if the case shape is a match (square vs rectangle).
Advert dated 1926

hmmm, you might be on to something Stephen
I'm good with that theory Steve. I saw we go for it until proven wrong.
