1927 Bulova Unknown 15J 4 Adj. 10AN movement with serial #235237, I cannot find any date stamp at all on the movement, so I am using the case serial to date it. The case and back are 14K White Gold filled with Bulova/American Standard Jan. 11 1927 patent stamped inside the snap-off cover.
The off-White dial with Black outlined numbers and Blued Cathedral hands is in very good condition, but no lume is left on either...I have a lume kit ordered and plan to do it myself unless you all think I should leave it as is...
The case measures 26.6mm wide and 36.6mm lug to lug with 15.6mm between lugs, the band is a NOS Wristacrat Dartmouth in lusterwhite that shoiuld be period correct, and the glass crystal is new...Plus it still runs!!
I think there is at least 3 more like this in the database...

Yes, I would concede that point counselor. ;)

Yes Lisa,
The cases look alike, and I remember the discussion on the Templar/Unknown that Wayne has in the database. It seem that this one was quite popular, so there should be a positive ID ad out there somewhere...
Oh Greg that is just beautiful, I love this model (I call it "Not a Templar" based on a long drawn out post here somewhere - all we ever decided was that it is NOT A TEMPLAR). As nice at it looks right now, I'm not sure I'd do anything.
I have a pair of these, yours is very cool but you must send me that bracelet. (pretty please?)
In reply to Oh Greg that is just by Geoff Baker
You may be in luck Geoff, I have 2 more just like it setting on my bench, the ends are 16mm, so they require a bit of trimming to fit some of the Bulova's.
Maybe I will try the practice dial with the lume and wait awhile to see if an ad shows up...
Greg,
After enlarging the image of the movement I see 2 Date codes (?)
1. a Square directly below the seriel number - confirming 1927.
2. Omega directly after the Jewel count script on the outer edge.

also noted were images of Tupac, Elvis and the Virgin Mary.
: )

Elvis and the rest must have stolen them, I have scanned this movement with a 20X loupe and bright light and still can't see any stampings on the plates that look like a date code...the serials are the best I have right now.
More coffee Mark, and a Prozac wouldn't hurt :-)
BTW, that's not Tupac, It's Mohammed.
Mohammed, I stand corrected.
Thanks Bob!
LOL
Fifth, would you please look at all my watch's movements under strong magnification and tell me if I missed anything? That would be really helpful.
If he finds a image of Mother Theresa, I'm outta here!!!
