Very nice watch. I just received a 1955 unknown with a very similar dial. The picture doesn't quite capture the mottled gold pattern of the dial or the gold bezel like your picture does. I have also found a 23 Jewel with the same dial. Cool numbers and a welcome break from the boring standard applied gold numbers. Good Luck with yours.

Thanks, Wayne. Yes, they are indeed the same script numbers and the linen weave texture makes it very eye catching. I haven't seen another like it, so I had to have it. BTW, your watch looks like a Clipper model.

I own one just like this but the bands been replaced!
Geezer, any ads confirming the model ID?
Sadly, I have not found an ad that verifies the model. The only provenance that I have is the hand written tag that was on the watch when I bought it. It came from a jewelers estate, but I have no other means of confirming.

Ok thanks. Lets hope that in time an ad shows up confirming it as a Senator.
Or, I can retitle as unknown, whatever may be the appropriate protocol.

AMERICAN EAGLE.

Looks like the American Eagle.
Do we change ID name from Senator to American Eagle without having to run through publishing process? It's not like we are ID'ing to a variant.
I would think so, bud. It's either a correct ID, or the nearest thing to it.
