1942 Bulova Comptroller
I'm curious what is engraved on the back.
Agree that this was released as a men's watch, but in this day and age it's more suited to a women's wrist. I do like that chunky bracelet.
Some watch models have been a challenge; this was one of them.
- 1943 - Comptroller (17J, yellow gold filled case, gold hands and numerals, leather strap)
- 1945/46 - Knickbocker (17J, natural gold, basketweave band)
- 1947/49 - Clinton (17J, yellow gold, basketweave band)
- 1948/49 - Chief (17J, yellow gold, basketweave/seed band)

It says Ma and Dad to Lil 1943.
I believe it was an 8th grade graduation gift that my Mother in law received from her parents.
What an amazing gift to receive at such a young age. The watch cost $37.50 back in 1943, which I imagine was quite a lot of money in those days.
Also interesting to gift a young girl a men's watch.
1942 Bulova Comptroller - Cool keepsake!
Agree that it is a 1942 Bulova Comptroller. Really interesting aftermarket bracelet. Almost looks like it was made from a bracelet.
The Knights had something similar though not as sturdy as this one. Absolutely love the bracelet, suits it very well.
