Another Mybulova member had an identical appearing watch and described it as a "Rutherford" from 1950. I received the watch in the early 1960s and do not have personal knowledge
Back of case. It states that it is 14K gold
Shows case number. I did not attempt to open the case. The watch is fully operations and keeps accurate time.

Based on case date, I believe your watch is a

1950 Ashford

Like THIS ONE,  except with the lugs modified/cut down - peg removal. Are there any signs of cut marks  or any indications of re-plating after the fact?

Since this is a 14kt gold case this is a 1950 Bulova Rutherford.  It does appear the dial was touched up at some point.

Two reasons I wouldn't support Ashford. Case back is a different style and Ashford is not solid gold as this watch is. Additionally it seems the Ashford is more of a 'pie plate' dial and this seem more rounded. I'd like to suggest that this is a 1950 Bulova Rutherford, like JERIN'S. Lug size/shape is consistent as well.

Good call, Geoff and Jim, I completely missed the 14 solid case and was unfamiliar with the  Rutherford. I agree, subject watch is a

1950 Rutherford

Thank you all. My father bought this watch and gave it to me around 1961. It keeps good time. I haven’t worn it for decades. When I last had it cleaned (in Washington DC), they commented that the watch was old and that it’d be difficult to find parts if any were needed.  I’m confident that the dial was not touched up.
