This has always been one of the watches I've wanted, just never pulled the trigger on. Always loved the knotty lugged Ashford, but this is it's big flasher brother, the Bulova "Rutherford" in 14K Solid Gold.
What a beauty Plains! 1950 Bulova Rutherford it is.
Wow! That's a beautiful time piece Plainsmen. I'm jealous.
What I love about this watch, many won't notice it but the 10BM Movement is locked into the case by set screws and a inner metal liner such as the old days of Pocket Watches. This gives the movement a much better chance of survival upon sudden shocks. It's a great movement but difficult to remove as you must remove the set screws first.
Beautiful example of 50' Bulova Rutherford

I don't understand. How do you get the inner metal liner out, because the dial has to come out the back too unless it's a front loader.

You just take those two big fat screws out on the outside. Movement and ring comes out normally.
Wow, what a beauty, congrats!
