Welcome and thanks for sharing. It is curious that the case back is dated L7 (1957) but the inscription states 1953. Is it possible the last number is an 8 and not a 3? In any event; by case date, your watch appears to be a

Thank You for the comment and info. It is odd about the dates. It sure looks like a 3 and not an eight but maybe AA was behind on awards?

That would be the most logical explanation.
It would also explain why I could not find it under the 1953 Bulova models. Captain Etzel did a lot of flying for AA between 1944-1970. A bit of it was overseas.
