Watch Repair

I am considering trying to replace a broken staff, I have replaced a few staffs in pocket watches, but never in a wrist watch. Are Bulova staffs riveted or friction fitted? Any pitfalls I should watch out for? Anyone have any tips or advice, would be appreciated.

I am a brand new member and have been interested in vintage Bulovas for some time now. I have an Accutron 214 from 1965 which I've had for many years now and it runs great, especially after a recent service.

I recently bought a beautiful 1952 Academy Award R watch and would like to get it serviced before wearing it on a semi-regular basis. I would like to get some recommendations on whom I could send this watch to for the needed service.

Been cleaning/organizing here and came across this watch that's been in limbo for years. It's complete and working, but when I got it the 8 was missing. Sent it to a dial refinisher to replace it and it came back with one that didn't quite match; it was all they had evidently. Would like to replace it with the correct, any help out there?

I recently purchased a 1926 Conqueror that needs a lot of TLC. Is there someone this site recommends for re-enameling the corners? Also, it came with a purple tinted crystal I'd like to replace. Are there stock or part numbers I should keep an eye out for? I've got tons more questions, but this should do for a start. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. 

Does anyone have a 10 AE staff/balance kit, the kind with the whole unit including the bridge.

I though someone might like to see the 11AERC "Wrist Alarm" movement broken down and reassembled. Aside from the Chronometer movements it is by far one of the more intricate movements with lots of parts for the alarm setting and normal setting and winding. The watch uses one mainspring to run the alarm unit and the watch operation. 

I am a new member and I recently posted a question in this forum topic with no response, I have been collecting vintage Bulovas for a while but have been bitten by the Accutron bug. I don't want my 214 to become a paperweight so I'm looking for a highly recommended  repair person preferably near me in the Hudson Valley area of NY. Thanks for your help,Jim W.

One of my recent Ebay buys is a 214 in great condition.With a fresh Accucell it started right up and has been keeping acurate time for several hours. Problem: the second hand is not moving. Usually it's the other way around, second hand sweeps-minute & hour stuck because of cannon pinion lube gummed up. Should I be able to see if there is a problem from the back before removing the dial? I have no clue as to how long this has been sitting. Likely a cleaning & lube would be benificial.

I have a 1955 model Bulova 23. I noticed that the dial is a bit yellow near the crown side ot the dial. Not bad, but noticeable. Is there any way that I can clean this or should  I leave it alone?  I have ruined dials before, particularly clock dials becasue for the most part they are uncleanalbe. Not sure about this watch.

Needs quality leather strap, crystal and a good cleaning (movement and case).
