I wish I had taken a pic of this piece I have my eye on. It is a 2 tone dial, sub second, the case is sterling, and the case back is A11 style military. Has anyone ever seen one like this? Supposedly it is from the 40's. I'm not sure if this is accurate.

I'm curious about is the American Standard cases and their various hallmarks between c1919 to c1924. Can these case hallmarks help date the movements they contain? Some of our early watches (1921/23) have been "dated" using the first digit of case serial number. Some have not. With uncertainty of a firm date when movement signatures change from Bulova W. Co.
Could this be Bulova's first every mens wristwatch?
Advert dates to December 16 1922. They were certainly selling and advertising pocket watches, but so far this is the first evidence we have of a mens wristwatch.
I do believe I got an engraved Commodore.... or Apollo? With original band for BOOM.... $16.

The ad is Dated 1930 and produced for Loftis Jewelers.
although not the best resolution at this size the Case details are visible.
We have this one ID'd throughout the Database beginning in 1927 and ending in 1930 as the 'CURTIS' with no ad to substantiate.

The ad is from Loftis Jewelers and appears on Page 40 in the book titled 'Wrist Watch Price Guide, Vintage American and European" Book 4 by Sherry and Roy Ehrhardt, Joe Dempsey. Heart of America Press.

There is an archived discussion about the 'Variant' which I would like to resurrect.
What is a 'Variant' You may ask. - To keep it simple a variant is a variation or a different version of something basically the same.
There has been discussion in the past of the possibility within some of the early Bulova model lines that the strap or bracelet the Watch was sold on could effect the designated variant. "A", "B", "C" etc.
