Jamais Huilerai:(a watchmaking tip)

Submitted by Reverend Rob on

Just a friendly reminder here for those of us who are concerned with our movements damaging themselves through lack of service.

My apologies to those who already know this little tidbit, this is in regards to oiling a watch. Apart from my usual rant about never oiling a dirty watch, and if it hasn't been cleaned, it is dirty, this is to do with what not to oil.

Joseph Bulova School Of Watchmaking Training Manual #7

Submitted by JP on

I now am the proud owner of a training manual from the actual bulova school. This manual uses a 10AK movement for all of the training and is very complete.  I am willing to share this great book with anyone who is a watch maker or wants to try to become one or just wants to be able to do some of the simple things better.

Bulova Post Card Project

Check this out.  Looks like a couple put together a progject showing Bulova post cards from Canada and the jewelers that sent them.  Could be maybe used as a clue which jewelers to look stuff up on in Canada?  The article is kind of cool anyway:

Some Bulova Newspaper ads of interest

Submitted by William Smith on

Started this post to share a few of the more interesting vintage Newspaper ads I've found recently.  Some have new information and models listed.  Some are just interesting to show marketing used at the time.  The dates of publication are confirmed from the top of the publication.  They may not warrant a spot in the ad database, but are noteworthy.
