I found this at an estate sale a few days ago. I still don't know if it working, but the hands, day and date move easily. The case has stainless steel on it. The watch band has a triangle with J8 in it, next to a script font that says Champion stainless steel. The only thing that I am pretty sure about is that it is from 1972 as there is a N2 at the bottom on the back. I don't know much about watches (more of a tech guy) but I know Bulova makes some really nice ones and the case on this was just an interesting shape.
Accutron Date & Day, interesting shape of the case
Yes it is. I've search online for anything and haven't seen anything like it. I even looked at old advertisements, but only found some other hexagonal shapes not one like this.
Hello rjramon, welcome to myBulova. I have never seen this case before, it's an interesting find. We have several pages of Accutron adverts from 1972 but none show this model. We would identify this as a Date and Day Accutron.
Thanks for sharing it.
Certainly a rare shape as we have never seen one presented here in person or in any adverts.
Generally speaking it an Accutron Day & Date as both Jabs and Geoff indicate. It would be great to fin an advert showing us the model variant.
