N6 Accuquartz, 224 movement? This watch has the faceted crystal, reflective brown/amber dial, and intriguing vertical striations. This watch came to me with original case, owners book, and I am guessing original tuning fork signed bracelet. Interesting comparison between mine and the one at https://mybulova.com/watches/1976-accuquartz-11847. In comparing these two they have some unique differences. 1. They are both 1976 but based on S/N mine is older? J275969 vs the other one's T111222. 2. It appears inside of my case back it was hand edited in the factory to say "Use Genuine 247 Cell" instead of 218. SO I am guessing this was a transition piece from the "tuning fork"? Or this watch had a movement replacement at some point? 3. My movement looks quite different so I am wondering is it a 224 series or something else? Looking forward to the group feedback.
After looking closer to the movement pic I realized there was a small faint set of numbers on lower left side, 245310. Realizing that this must be a 245 movement, specifically 2453.10. Will do more reading on that.
Thank you for posting your watch. I tried to locate a linebook listing for this watch but could not find it. I will go with a designation as a 1976 Bulova Accuquartz Date & Day.
Thanks for the feedback JimDon5822. I am wondering if this was retrofitted or came from factory this way. I did find evidence in other forums where folks talked about replacing old 224s with 245 and I see where you can buy 245 movements, but I lean towards it came from factory this way and they just didn't update the manual yet. Looks like the original owner wrote the S/N in booklet that matches the watch.

This is a great document. It shows the model number which is 92720Y which I found in the 1973-1977 Linebook as a 92720-2Y. There is no pictures but based on the serial number matching the paperwork I would classify this as 1976 Bulova Accuquartz Date & Day Model #92720-2Y. The movement is most likely original and is a caliber 247 quartz movement. The battery number required probably does not relate to the movement as batteries were used on multiple calibers and the earliest caliber probably is what the battery is named for.

Agree with Jim's assessment.

Is this a match?

No, it's close though. The bracelet attaches differently. It appears that the day indicator is also different.

Ahh yes. I now also see that the top and bottom bezel where the bracelet attaches is different.
Agreed, good research!
