Bulova Accutron from 1977; has the 2193.10 movement with day/date feature; stainless steel case; original band/bracelet replaced; luminous hands and dial - rather simple silver-ish dial; caseback dated N7
Looks to match the model 21569 from this 1977 advert.
My first acquisition of an accutron; though it is not the more desirable 218 or 214, still a nice piece; never heard the hum of an accutron before, so that was a cool first experience.
If anyone has any documentation/service manuals for this movement, I would appreciate a pdf copy or a link - thanks!
Are there any good instructions available for the setting of the day and date? The winding stem will advance the date, but only after the time reaches 5pm; before that time, there is a hard stop when trying to turn; it does not advance the day when turned in the opposite direction. There are only two setting positions: 1- normal running and date advancing and 2- minute and hour hand setting. So far, I can advance the day by cycling the hands 24hrs. I'm hoping there is a simpler way to set both the day and date...or some proper instructions, thanks
Congrats on a fabulous example Andersok. That's in incredible shape. I'm a fledgling Accutron collector and have one 219 movement example, the one to the right of yours in the advertisement. Mine is in execellent condition, with the case near NOS, but with some discoloring of the electroplate on the center band links. Unfortunately, my gamble (I won it via auction fairly inexpensively) didn't pay off and it may have a bad coil. I recently purchased a donor movement so eventually I'll send it to someone to get it running.
I'll check if I have any service manuals I've gotten online and get back to you. I may have some information from Bulova's "technical letters" about this movement.
