Does your watch look like any of these??
The whale was a good Sea King ID in the early to mid 60's, but it seems that in the later 60's, early 70's most of the water "resistant" watches had the whale on them, even the 23J models.

17 Jewels Manual winding w/ Center Seconds in a Waterproof Case was the 'SEA KING'.
The 'CLIPPER's were Automatics.
