There is some yellowing/browninging/ discorolation on the face and some wear to the band. Also there are some scratches on the case and on the crystal. The watch seems to keep time okay. Face is marked "Bulova," "17 Jewel," and "Swiss." The back of the case is marked "Bulova," "L9," "10K RGP Bezel," "Stainless Steel Back," and "U608514." The clase and safetly clasp work fine and the safety chain is in tact. It measures approximately 6 1/2 inches long, plus the safety chain. The face is approximately 5/8 inch wide ( not including the wind knob).

This is the Concerto. I have found 3 different variants with different dials but all the same case and model name. No luck on variant ID yet. Ad Dec 16 1962, Indiana.

The Concerto and S.V.P. models share this design. The above watch looks to be white gold, but I am not sure.
The 1961 pricelist shows the Concerto models for this watch as New, which I take to mean that prior to '61 it may be the SVP model.
In yellow gold, Concerto 'A' and SVP 'IX', ref# 63200
In white gold, Concerto 'B' and SVP 'X', ref# 63201
I also see these in different dial variations, full numerals, or just the 12.

SVP was not a model name I found on one ad. It stood for Style, Value and Performance or S.V.P. for short. It was on quite a few ads that I found. Not sure if it was a Bulova thing or a jewelery store thing. Unless they are showing it in the pricelist then I guess it was.

The pricelists do not use the full wording, just the three letters S.V.P.; I think that will be the proper model name to go with for this model line.

Sorry I am going on and on lol They do seem to be using it as a name so I guess it is. Very strange to me that they used it as a mens and ladies name but there you go : )

Wow, Ken, that certainly made it more confusing. This appears to be yet another example of a name change based on date of production. The 1959 date of the Australian advert would indeed say the subject watch is a
1959 Bulova SVP "X".
