Watch Description

I believe this is a Storm King 'b'. Black dial, two piece case, 11afc manual wind, serial number E071858, both date codes are L9. The bracelet is a half stretch half solid link Gemex. I'd post a picture of the movement, but it's a whole process splitting the case.

Second day back on this beauty. Based on THIS advert, which shows a Storm King B, I would say it's probably not the Storm King B. I've looked through our adverts and line books, I just can't find a match (YET). I'm still looking.

Curious about the movement, have you confirmed it's a 17j 11AFC?

Definitely 11afc, i serviced it. It's very similar to the 11alc, except the balance it adjusted with screws.

Based on the 1960 Line book this is a match to the Storm King B.  It could be a transitional model between 1959 and 1960.

The watch has the characteristics of a 'CLIPPER' from this era.

.... or maybe not but the case lugs differ on the 'STORM KING'

The case is similar to to my sea Clipper, except the tube and thickness. This storm King is thinner with a removable tube, the Clipper tube is soldered/brazed in. I know cuz i tried to removed it for this storm King, haha.

So I spent a bit of time earlier today looking  for a  match, but wasn't successful. The case is the problem.

Jim, I think you nailed the dial and hands config, but do wonder about the case.

There is a good chance it is another variant of the Storm King.

In the verbiage in the line book, it says the "B" is identical except with a black dial.
