This appears to be a 1952 Surgeon in yellow gold. It has a stainless steel back with a L2 date code. The dial is black with yellow gold applied hour markers and a printed yellow gold second hand register. The hands are lumed with a short second hand. The movement is a 10BTC movement with an L2 date code.

A lazy sleeting day is a great time to work on watches. This one cleaned up great and is running strong.

1952 Bulova Surgeon
Surgeon works for me. Amusing the Black Hawk was during the war years making this likely a Surgeon. I have seen a couple of American Nurse's for sale that were dated in the 1950s as well.
1952 Bulova Surgeon
Hi
I just bought a 1953 Bulova Surgeon with L3 on the case back and movement. The dial is black like this one.
Cheers
