Hi there, I know this watch to have been purchased as new in New York by my great-uncle. At some point it was given to my great-aunt in Castletownbere in the west of Ireland (circa 1960's) and has come down the line through my father to myself here in Dublin. It keeps accurate time. I would appreciate members comments or any updates on my spec. Many thanks, Kevin.
Your watch will be His Excellency "XX"

A9 on movement and case. 1949, but are we sure it's a HE "XX"? I would go along with that ID with or without "Excellency" on the dial, but seconds track appears different from referenced ad and also all the examples of the HE XX in the database. Is that splitting hairs? Possible reworked dial?
I agree with 1949 His Excellency XX. As noted, the dial is possibly not the original, that seconds track is unique.
'49 His Excellency XX, possibly a re-dial.
Hello Kevin, welcome to myBulova. Heirloom watches are the simply the best, think of all the stories this beauty could tell.
1949 His Excellency XX is my vote for ID,

Hi Geoff, yes I couldn't agree more, when I found this site I felt this watch deserved it's rightful place on this really nice database collection! Many thanks.
