Nice watch, welcome and thanks for sharing. Based in s/n, watch is dated 1949 and was most likely released early for the 1948 Christmas season. He is a

Welcome to myBulova and thank you for sharing your watch with us.  I have changed the date to 1949.  We go by the case date and although it is inscribed 48 it was probably purchased at the end of 48 when the 49 cases were coming out.  Your watch is a His Excellency "LL" like this one https://admin.mybulova.com/watches/1949-his-excellency-ll-10509
