This was an exciting find b/c I really like the Art Deco style.
Bulova Ladies watch in 14 KT Rose Gold with one (1) Diamond and three (3) Rubies. The watch came with the original case and receipt, dating back to 10-17-45 @$135.00.
The ad has two different prices for the Elaine, one next to watch states $135.00, and at the bottom of the ad it states $125.00
Very similar to the 1943 Juliet, with the exception of the red round dots at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 hour markers.

I'd be inclined to go with the older date of 1945, the receipt is good evidence that the case is original and the stamp on the movt is 1945. We have seen stretches between case and movt, but I don't think that's the case here.
The first advert for the Mayflower curiously does not indicate what the case is made of, while the other watches (Broadcaster & Pocket watch) are clearly identified. However, the other adverts do say 14k, so this is looking like Bulova changed the name at some point. Either that or the advert is not correct.

And here is a 3rd. Single diamond at top with the same setting as this watch with beading around it instead of plain. Same 3 rubies at the bottom and 14K. I have been cataloging the cocktail watches for a few months now. I think this explains the different names. Why they made so many with slight differences is another question.
I believe this watch needs to be reviewed and IDed as the "ELAINE" because the ad dated DEC 05, 1945, clearly indicates and states: "complete selection of new, smart models."
The receipt for the subject watch is dated: 10-17-1945, the Mayflower was introduced on Dec. 05-1945 as a new name/model on that date.
From my research, the Mayflower was introduced on Dec-05-1945 and sold/advertised until Dec 12, 1948.
I believe the name should be changed to the 1945 ELAINE.
