I picked this up a couple of months ago I believe it's a 23 jewel mystery dial. It has L9 on the movement and adjusted to six positions on rotor weight. The case is stamped Bulova and says shock resistant 110 anti magnetic 10.K.T.R.G.P it looks in great condition and runs well. Just some plate loss on snap back plate at edge.

your watch is Bulova 23 "Mystery Dial" like another example in database
Nice watch Ray. If you can believe it, advertising in the 50's and 60's wasn't as 'truthful' as it has to be today. Late in the 1960's watch companies were required to use the term 'water resistant' instead of 'waterproof'. A good rule of thumb is that if it doesn't have a screw down crown, it really shouldn't go underwater.
Bulova 23 "Mystery Dial"
Hi Geoff, thanks for the feedback. My problem with my watches is that I teach rock n roll dance classes so I need to be careful which watch I put on if it ain't got a screwdown back with gasket when my body temperature rises I get condensation under the lens which we all no ain't good having moisture in a watch. That's why I was curious about this model because there is no gasket on back like other 23 models. Thanks again Ray
