Solid 14k beauty from 1945. Can't think of anything else to say, it's grand!

Remembering that this was added to the db in the "pick your own ID era", I will state publicly that I myself am not convinced this is a Douglas althought there certainly are similarities. It seems we often have difficulty with solid gold models. I agree with Will that it would be unfortunate to see it slip into the Unknown category but will leave that to my fellow PM's.
Did Bobbee find a newspaper ad for the solid gold version on a solid gold weav bracelet? ....not the Engineer ad w/ different dial variation, but different model name for solid gold?
I betcha, like Geoff says above, this is a unique model name other than Douglas. I still don't think it should be unknown, and two tick Douglas is still my vote....unless I can find that ad Bobbee found.
I think I might have found something.
Edit: found more info. The G-S Crystal catalog #55 lists a crystal for the Envoy. It's G-S CMX345-10 and the measurements are 22.5 X 19.1. It is listed as fitting the "Envoy" and the "Commuter" and with those measurements it wouldn't fit the "Douglas". The drawing in the catalog looks to have the shape of the crystal on the watch in the ad.

"...Oro 14 kt..." Is this ad above picturing rose/red gold? I like it for the case gold content anyway. Dial not a match, and if Envoy crystal does not fit Douglas....I'll check other Douglas examples for case or crystal dimensions, and we can compare to Geoff's beauty.

Did plains just discover an ad for this watch? Is this the Director?
