I believe this is a 1946 Directors Men Watch from Tue research I did on the site. Can anyone confirm that is correct, stamp on the back is 5401157 I don’t want open the entire watch to look at the back and reason for this is it still works when I took it out of the glass case I can see the movement moving from the side and heard the ticking. Thank you for your help
Based on s/n starting with a "5", watch is a 1945. I will update for you. Yes; by case style, color and dial it is indeed a
1945 Director
A 1945 Bulova Director it is.

So the band on this watch is not the original band ?

I believe all of our ads in database show this watch on a rose gold scissor band. My educated guess would be the black leather Gemex is a replacement.
So I opened the case entirely so in the back of the cover has a bunch of numbers and letter engraved into it. I got photos but not sure how to add those, the numbers are k-148 / 291 277 / M9505 / 15x15 / it weird Fc 1835 / the FC a odd design but it looks like a fc mixed together.

Generally, the markings you see inside a watch case are made by the various watchmakers who have serviced or repaired the watch over the years. Unfortunately they only have meaning to the individual that made them, there is no standardized 'code'. Lots of marks can indicate regular service.
1945 Bulova Director gorgeous dial on these!
1945 Bulova Director looks to be a good match.
