I found this watch in a box of my grandparents belongings. I am curious to find out more about it, and if it can be restored.
Hi,
The Watch appears to be the 'DIRECTOR' model, although I'm not so sure as it is around this time that Bulova introduces what they called a "new colour."
Coral.
In My experience Coral is not quite Yellow and not quite Red, middle ground between the two and the subject appears to be Coral.

Hi ddubois, welcome to myBulova, Your watch can absolutely be restored. I think it's wonderful that you have your grandfather's watch. I must warn you now though, more than one of our members caught the 'Bulova' disease while researching a family heirloom much like you're doing now. I'm happy to report that there is no known cure.
I'm pretty sure the name of your watch is "Director" here's a link to one very much like it.

The difference between your watch and this one will be the dial. We have discussed that on other watches but in the end gave them the Director ID as well. There are several members that can restore your watch, let us know it you need a recommendation? Replacement hand are available and the dial can be refinished to look just like new. Cleaning and oiling the movement is also required periodically if you're going to use it.
Thank you very much for your comments.
Since the ads you linked above are from 1941, am I to assume this watch was most likely sold in 1941?
I am thrilled to know it can be restored and would appreciate a recommendation fro someone who can do that.
Even though it is a Mens watch, I look forward to wearing it.
Thank you again for your comments!

Debbie - I sent you a private message (PM) check the upper right hand corner of the page for a link to it. By the way - this size man's watch on a womens wrist is not a problem at all. Only the hard core collectors would even notice.
Stock sometimes becomes a bit stale in jewellery stores and it is not unusual to see a watch selling two years after it was made.
Welcome Debbie. I agree with Geoff. The closest I can see is the Director. The dial may however place this as another model. 1942/32 looks to be correct.
Looks like a Director to me.
Tentative Director. It's the closest we have as a match. Here's hoping you can locate some hands for this beauty. A watch needs hands to tell the time....well a real watch does anyway!!
The Year of Manufacture is 1943, as indicated by the X on the Movement.
