I am not sure which model this is. My best guess is the Montgomery. Other possibilities: Lone Eagle, Ambassador, Oxford, Webster.
Based on lug shape, dial configuration and color along with the recessed crown; I'm inclined to go with your first choice as well. The Omega overstamp on the movement with a case s/n starting with a "0" dates it as 1940.

A nice example. Thanks for sharing!

It seems that the Montgomery was only made from 1937 to 1940. I wonder if it was named after the Hollywood actor Robert Montgomery (father of actress Elizabeth Montgomery). He appears to have been popular then.
The recessed crown is a giveaway that it is a 1940 Bulova Montgomery. A very fine example also.

Great. Thanks for the quick examination. I also heard the following.
The Montgomery looks like the Lone Eagle and the Ambassador, but it is quite a bit longer. The Lone Eagle and Ambassador are about 38.7 and 41. They also use the 10 series motor, whereas the Montgomery uses a 7 series motor.
Very nice, love the recessed crown...Looks better than my Lone Eagle!

I see your 1940 Lone Eagle A. I was actually trying to complete my Lone Eagle collection and confused this Monty one for a LE. If you can afford it, you should definitely try to get yours serviced and repaired. I am sure it would look lovely.

I'm actually trying to find someone to do the work at a fair price....I don't think mine would ever look as good as your Mont.
