I am posting this with the seller's photos with permission. I had planned on bidding on this watch but got busy with family and didn't get to the final bid. I found this one interesting that the case says Toronto. I am guessing on the date due to the color combo of the dial and the dates we have for the 17AE. We can delete this if the new owner wants to post it later.
Very interesting! Wish I could make out the date stamp on the movement. Here is another in a "Toronto" marked similar case that bears a movement with a serial number.

Yes me too Bob, I can kind of see an Omega and a square, not sure which it is.
I love it. Very interesting case design (like the linked one too). Hard to assign a year, I guess 1940 is OK. I wonder what he notch in the case back designates - gold testing? 1940 Bulova Pocket Watch
Gosh I thought I saw this case shape before but cannot find a match to it. Unknown for me.
I think I'm seeing a square stamp (1936) near the mainspring barrel click. Certainly looks to have 2 corners.
Generally speaking we would classify as a generic Bulova Pocket Watch when we cannot match to a known model.
The 16 x 17AEs movement examples we have in the database range from 1936-1937. (https://www.mybulova.com/search-bulova-movements?movement_model=12)
I'm inclined to date to 1936
1936 Bulova Pocket Watch (for now)

I saw that as well, but it seems this movement was traditionally date stamped on the right side of the small gear under Swiss (between the 2 screws and gear). I enlarged the photo and think I see a triangle below Swiss and even with the head slot on the larger screw. That would indicate 1935 with perhaps a hand stamp for 1936 on the opposite side?

1936 Pocket Watch works for me.

I'm agreeable to dropping the year to 1936
I knew I saw this shape before. From 1981 Catalog. Definitely suggest this was a heritage design for an earlier Bulova model.
