A customer came in with this watch and kindly agreed to sell it to me. Gold filled Bulova case, and in house Bulova 17AB movement. This was likely produced in their Swiss plant(s). I have not serviced it yet, but it runs quite well as is.
I'm in the middle of crafting a nice Silver chain for it.
EDIT: I have included the watch with new chain pic.
I'm not sure if I've ever seen a case marked 'New York City.'

I think it's a first for me too. That's cool.
That is a really cool pocket watch! Closest I can find is Newton but the dial is different.

Very nice, never seen a case marked in that fashion. Based on potential year of ad vs. year of watch, it could be a Newton variant. The ad call out of 2 tone engraving could very well indicate the dial.
I could go with Newton for now, noting dial, hands and crown variance if that is panel consensus or unknown.

I agree it could be a variant and/or a solid gold vs gold filled versions.
I'm going with Unknown for now. Not sure I can make the bridge from a two tone Newton.
I don't think it is a Newton either. That's a crisp dial and hands though.
ROB - that chain is PERFECT - well done man.

Thanks, Geoff! I've been having trouble finding decent chains lately so I started making them. Sometimes I use old parts but this one is all new, I aged it a bit to look vintage.

You nailed it Rob.
