White gold filled case with an "F" between the lugs on one end. Only other outside marking is "open" on one end of the single hinged case back. Interior is marked with "Bulova Quality" and 1927 patent date for dust cover (present). Movement bears the square shield for 1931, which matches serial number.
If my identification is correct, this appears to be a previously undocumented "dress dial" variant of the La Fayette.
Overall excellent condition with a few crystal scratches and tiny "dings" on case that is satin finish with polished raised strip on crystal verticals. Face appears to be original finish and in excellent condition. Period ad correct band was added by me, and is in basically new condition. Watch runs and is keeping time. It has lots of jeweler marks on the inside, so it was well taken care of.
A nice La Fayette it is!
A Bulova classic.
1931 Bulova La Fayette
1931 Bulova La Fayette was also my thinking the moment I saw it.
1931 is really the period we really start to see the dial change to this style of raised numbers rather than painted.
1931 Bulova La Fayette looks like a match to me.
Great condition - 1931 Bulova LaFayette
Updated ID to a Dewey based on front bezel side ridges which the Lafayette does not have.
