I saw this go through on the auction site and though it was to rich for my blood, I thought that it would make a great example for us. I asked the sellers permission and was granted the use of the pictures.
I don't know the actual year of manufacture as there is no date stamp, nor movement model other than Phantom.
I'm a trained investigator, so I'm going to take the 1922 ad as the date and name this the 1922 Phantom!
Now this is strange. A jeweler was selling the same watch at a massive cost difference.
Above advert dates to 16 December 1922. Below advert dates just 2 dats earlier on 14 December 1922. Same Phantom 682 selling for only $60.
Even the 6827 is massively reduced from $375 down to $180.

Stock clearance anyone?
Subject watch is a wonder example of a collectors bucket list watch...The Bulova Phantom - 682

Maybe filled vs solid? This one is stamped 18k Solid.

Advert states solid white gold. Maybe 14Kt vs 18Kt.
Wow - cool watch plains, can't believe you did scoop this one up?
