Watch Description

I was happy to find this pretty little Lady Maxim early wristwatch.  Dating it at 1921 based on one in the DB with a serial # slightly later than this one.  It has a 15 jewel working movement and reads AI and has 10 in a trapezoid shape.  It says Bulova W Co on the movement.  The inside case is marked American Standard and has the globe icon, warranted 25 years, monogram quality, and the serial #.  The outside of the case is plain.  The dial is in fantastic shape for the age and reads Lady Maxim and it has lovely blue hands.  The crown is at the 12 o'clock position which is the style I was looking for.  The ad is from 1921.

Thank you Geoff.  Hard to believe you can pick up these old beauties still working and with such a nice dial for almost 100 years old.

Question (to mymself) did Bulova start with 'Lady Maxim' on the dial and then drop it in order to start branding as Bulova? This would then suggest that those branded LM on the dial are infact earlier ones than those without....again thinking out loud.

Yes, I would agree that in terms of branding, that's most likely what happened.
