Dial needs a total refinish. It has bilstered off in several areas. Case back is signed inside and out and the movement is signed as well. All hands and numbers are raised and gilt and the signature and minute markers are black. The watch runs well and keeps good time. I saw one like this on ebay go for a considerable amount today and was suprised at the figure. I would like to get it redialed and hang on to it as it was given to me by the son of a master watch maker who was a Bulova nut and it has pushed me to get into the collecting of them.
Case back is signed as is the dial. 10k RGP. All hands and numbers and signature are raised gilt.
Needs new crystal. Light scratches on bezel but no wear off of gold.
I just added a 1970 chrono and want to add the 14EB (VAL 7733) movement but I don't know the first year it was used or for that matter when/if it was discontinued. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Darren
Movement: 14EB (VAL 7733 6) 17j = Movement Date Code: M9 = Case Date Code: N0 = Overall Length: 44mm = Width: 37mm = Between Lugs: 18mm = Stainless Steel = Couldn't find a model. Closest was in a 1970 ad but it had a bezel and this does not. The photo of the front is without the crystal.
After looking at every rectangle watch in the database the closest one I came up with was the Douglas but the lugs are different. I checked the ads from '44 to '46 also. Could it be a later case?
Movement: 7AP 21j
Date Code: O 1944
Case #4238199
Overall Length: 35mm
Width (sans crown): 20mm
Between Lugs: 15mm
Solid 14KYG
It's either a Craftsman or a Tuxedo, though I don't have the original band. I went with Tuxedo because of the contrasting color of the sub-seconds area. Overall Length: 38mm Width: 21mm 14KWG
Just posted this ad for my formerly Unkown 1952, it's the 52 Ambassador.
Hey,
I have seen several posts, such as from Rev Rob, where early Bulova movements were noted to be interchangeable with Swiss-made Font movements. As an example, I have been told the 10AX is interchangeable with Font 324. Is there a list, or can anyone provide a list, of interchangeable Swiss movements and Bulova movements such as the 10A, 10P, 10AE, 10AN, 10AX, etc? Thanks! Maybe a list could be added to the Information Tab of the site?
Movement is double stamped with a Square over a Delta. 14KYG case. *EDIT* 07/03/12 Corrected date of manufacture 1937
