Just Arrived: Bulova 30J Micro Rotor Auto

Submitted by oliverb on

This just arrived today -  30J Micro Rotor with movement date of "M8" but a case date of "N2". Quite a difference in dates - is this possible? Have looked through the ads but haven't found a case of this style. Definitely looks like '70s case style. The watch is in excellent condition. No brassing, mint dial and hands and only very minor wear on polished case surfaces. This evening I polished out the scuff marks on the crystal and it now looks great. The watch runs fine and time keeping is right-on over the past several hours.

I can't believe myself sometimes!!!

I was going to take some new pictures of the 1965 Beau Brummell that you all were so wonderful in helping identify for me.  I wanted the hands to be "even" in the photos ~ it was hard to pull the little knob out so I took some tweezers and pulled on it ~ and it popped off!!!!!

I can see that there is a little notch on the end of it ~ when I try to put it back on, it won't stay and it won't turn the hands!!!

Watch Description

L3 on both caseback & movement. Notice the pitched Dauphine hands, with matching Dauphine seconds hand. The amount of wabi on this watch was phenomenal, and took 3 hours to remove, but on the upside it protected the bezel and upper surfaces from wear and they are in very good condition. Unfortunately, the caseback has a little hole and bad plate wear. The movement is in good order apart from the hairspring being bent, stopping it from working.

Can anyone help me indentify this watch?

Submitted by hanley04@gmail.com on

It is a woman's watch with a round face, slightly larger then a quarter. on the inside of the back cover it says warranted 20 years and then the number 1076990. On the inner mechanism it has marking in many places, it states 15 jewels, Bulova W Co, the number 36470, what looks like an A II, it has what looks like a little lever with 2 setting, possibly AF and RS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Guidlines for a correct watch ID?

Submitted by OldTicker on

This is a open form to get input from ALL MEMBERS on establishing a set of guidelines for what should be required to correctly give a posted watch a 3 "tick" rating.

As many of you have seen in the past few months, theory's and opinions seem to take precedence on the panel's rating of watches, and everyone has a different opinion. (you know the old saying about opinions) ; )  I am as guilty as others here of this.
