Crystal is tinted blue. Inside back reads ...Pat. Jan. 1, 1927 - 14K - Gold Filled - New York
Looks like President.
Thanks for your response. Newbie here. Is the blue crystal something special for this era.
Is it special for collectors?
happy 4th to you.
President
Case serial gives us a date of 1930.
The blue crystal is unusual, but coloured crystals were available, still are.
GARFIELD, 1929 ad.

Hi Moose - welcome to myBulova, great looking watch. I agree with Bob on two points. I think your watch is a 1930 case, so we would identify it as a 1930 model. The blue crystal is a replacement and it was/is possible to find them in various colors, some quite striking.
The points we don't quite agree on ( three actually) is that I think your watch is a 1930 President as shown in comparison below:
Ad is 1931
ad is 1929
PS - the other point(s) Bob and I differ on are spelling and national holidays, being a Brit, Bob spells some words differently (it's still the Kings English though...) and celebrates July 4 differently as well!
PSS - myBulova members are global, I can think of six or seven countries represented from at least three continents.
Now we are in agreement on several points:
*This IS a President (hang my head in shame!).
*The year.
*The crystal.
*This watch is fantastic!
1930 President.
Not that I'm debating the President model but could I please get confirmation of the movement details, in particular the serial number and date code. I'm just thinking that the movement is earlier than 1930.

Darn The main title is displaying as 1927 President. Some little glitch.
EDIT: I changed root record drop-down to 1930 and now main title is showing 1929 LOL
I want to confirm the movement details. The Case serial number 0185422 may also read 0135422.
the detail on the 3rd number is hard to read.
The movement model # 9A and serial # 63119 are correct.
Thanking you again for all your help in identifying my watch. Purchased it at a fleamarket, some 30 years ago in New York.
I realize the condition is poor, and there isn't a strap. Could you possibly give a value range, for curiosity sake.
Thanks once more.
