As described in a newspaper advertisement..."... the new and exciting - Bulova Quartz Digital - Bulova Computron (LCD) Stainless Steel Case.  Charcoal grey dial. $99.00 " 1976 (N6)  Shape: Hexagon BULOVA - Power Cell 247B (Energizer 384 current installed) Men/Laides - M TYPE - Bulova LCD W/Bulb STYLE # - 81200 (or 81201) CASE # -  Bulova Swiss F 53  MODEL (movement) 3006.10 NO. OF CELLS - 2 The watchband is a replacement with "Speidel U.S.A" stamped on back of each link.  I believe the original band was leather.

Hi Triumph - welcome to myBulova. Looks like you've brought us a 1976 Computron in very nice condition. What fascinates me about these watches is that they were state of the art in 1976. A manual wound watch without day date function for this model year was about half the price of this marvel. Today we look askew at quartz watches and call them "throw away" but in 1976 we were slipping our mechanical movement watches into our sock drawers and strapping these things onto our wrists. "New and Exciting........."

The 1976 ad displayed Names the Watch a 'QUARTZ LED' not a 'COMPUTRON'.

If I'm not mistaken there's a difference between an LED and an LCD

Mark - If I'm not mistaken the ad ( Item K) reads 

"Bulova Computron (LCD)"

LCD=Liquid Crystal Display.

Item L would be correct, as it matches the watch.

Item L states Goldtone, subject watch is stated as Stainless

I was just going to add the subject has an LCD, which is a constant display.

The 'COMPUTRON' lights up when a button is pressed (LED)

I was thinking item I was the match, L is described in the ad as having a Goldtone Case, but so is I.

Subject is Stainless Steel.

the Owner seems to have the ID correct and I'm off to the Optomitrist!

K is correct, My question would be does the advertiser have the Model ID wrong?

Note all of the 'COMPUTRON's are LED except K and L, which are adverised as having LCD.

I would suggest error in the Model ID's of H and J - K and L, being reversed. 

 

....but then again, what do I know.

This very thing had watchmakers screaming that the sky was falling.......again. I was told to forget about becoming a watchmaker, as there wasn't going to be any more mechanical watches. (I went and did other things for 30 years)

But then, I was also told that due to the fact that there was NEVER going to be any more vacuum tubes, my Marshall amplifier was worthless, as was my beautiful Fender Deluxe Reverb. I was skeptical, and kept these. 

Aren't we also supposed to have flying cars and teleportation now? 

Cool watch! Hard to believe it wasn't cheap.
