lol whatever
I think you have an obviously inflated view of your importance in my life.
Moreover, I'm not arguing that the watch shouldn't be considered a Phantom. I'm just pointing out that you don't follow your own theory about the importance of the strap. You only point it out as an issue in other people's watch posts.
If the panel votes that the watch is a Phantom, it shows how little the panel buys into your theory that the strap has to match the ad. Same reason they vote positively on, for example, an Academy Award "Q" that doesn't have the strap shown in the ad. It's obviously still the "Q".

No minutes register on adverts, watch has arrow lume at 3,6,9 and 12, ad has square dots.
The same ad sheet has several examples of the Phantom and Phantom A. The difference, as far as I can tell, is the letter A. In the same section of the ad where the Phantom is listed, other models are listed by variant letter, so at least Bulova was listing by variant for some of the models in the same ad.

I think the letter designations could be for the case and/or dial, see my post edit to 1951 "Watertite F".
BTW, very handsome watch Mark, I have the same outer case for a Benrus and my Surf King fits perfectly.
Second example of this Watch owned is identical in every manner - Case Dial and Hands.....

...except the Movement.

inside the Second example is an 11 ABC, which is a new one to Me.
I also have this Watch (3rd example) with a Dial variation.

Here's one passed through me a few months back. Black dial, L4

..with Gilt Numerals and Hands, Gold bezel.
Nice one!
Plains, looks like you have the Phantom "B" per this ad.

In reply to Plains, looks like you have by NOVA
Ah Cool..... thanks Lis... more Library of Congress stuff?
Did you make your second trip yet?

Not LOC stuff, but rather generous contributions from Mr. Bruce Shawkey, who had a nice stash of original Bulova materials that he has collected over the years and was kind enough to share.
