1965 Unknown Bulova watch

Submitted by jass05 on

Hello all

I am new to this site and to Bulova watches.  I got this watch at an auction and was trying to find out what it is.

The serial on the back is 617677

The stem is missing (hope to find a place that can repair with original part)

14k white gold

the face says BULOVA below the 12 and 23 above the 6

there are 5 diamonds on each side where the band attaches to watch

23 Jewels

5AR is stamped on the inside back of the watch face.

M5 is stamped on the inside back also making this a 1965 I believe.

1953 Chadwick??

Submitted by JP on

I have seen discussions on this watch before but don't remember who or when. The GS crystal is a CMH 407 and it fits perfect. I can't find the "Chadwick" in the 53 ads and don't remember which movement I took out of the watch but I think it was a 10BC or BM. I just have too many things going on at once and when I started to put this one back together I forgot which movement went in it.

Newbie trying to find out what I have

Submitted by gldndrms on

Hello,

I found this watch in the bottom of a box I got at an auction.

I have no idea on what model this is or if it is even a real Bulova watch.

The face and back both are marked Bulova but the inside workings are marked Zodiac Ltd.

I do know that the diamonds above the 12 and below the 6 are real.

Any information or help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Pictures of watch as received .

It was ticking a bit, but would stop.  Cleaned balance, a couple spots of oil, and it's running great.

Cleaned up nice.  (No pics yet.)

But I'm still not sure what model to list it under.  Blue dial is rather minimalist.  Nice matte finish.  Hour markers are flat with luminous beads right at the edge of dial.

I don't think I've seen the whale with just the outline before.  (not filled in.)

Movement = 11ANACD

Thanks!

25 Executive or Ambassador??

Submitted by JP on

I acquired a 14K RGP square movement and case today. The movement is a 10A 15 Jewels with a circle symbol. No dial or hands. Dust covered trifold with dust cover intact and in good shape. It appears to be an Executive or maybe an Ambassador. Both have same case style. Crystal dimensions are 21.7 by 21.7 mm. Lug to lug is 33.21mm by26.6 mm with no crown. Trifold is in excellent shape. Movement is missing balance and balance cock as well as hour wheel. I think it is worth repairing since it seems to be a rare one worth the effort. I will post pictures as soon as I get it cleaned up.

1941 Alden, Engineer, lone eagle?

Submitted by Donotstack on

Hello all, I recently bought a watch and I cant figure out what it is. It looks like an Alden but the thing that is throwing me is that it has a 21j movement? I cant find anything with a 21j movment in this style. Second question is since it is a little dirty, would it be worth it to have it cleaned up or would it take away from the value?
