Well, mysterious to me... Pictured below is my PhD advisor’s father’s watch. I am told it is a 1967 model 214 Accutron. This is the only memento left to my advisor by his father so as you can imagine it has the utmost in sentimental value. While wearing it, the plastic “crystal” popped off and needs replacing.

Gents,

I have several autos that all have the same problem...the winding weights all have excessive 'wobble'...any help??? I have removed the weight on a 10csc and cannot see what the problem is unless the weight rides on a shaft that actually goes into the main body of the mvmnt, as this one stops flush with the winding weigh drive gear (on the shaft at the weight end)...shaft broke??? Any help greatly needed lol

GLASS FITTING.

I like the look and characteristics of genuine Glass the problem being is it doesn't always fit 'out of the box'.

The solution?

For hobbyists such as Myself I found that a simple and inexpensive sharpening stone does the trick. Keep the stone wet under running water while rubbing the edge of the glass to be fitted along its length. Following the edge of the glass will help reduce any splintering.

Total investment $1.99 + tax from Sears.
