hello i was watching cajun pawn stars last nite (i am not advertising for it, i thought to be not as good as the original) anyway the had a fatully gold 18k pocket watch by i think if i remember correctly johnson watch co...the watch was beautiful very ornate...anyway the pawn owner said that if was has more repairs the watch is worth less...i didn't think that was true maybe because the orginal parts were changed it might be worth less..but what about a basic cleaning/service watchmakers mark when they were done..i don't see that taking away from a watches value...i could be wrong..btw the

TWINS!! I call them "left" & "right" - I wanted something original

"Left" is 1973 came with original boxes and paper, I rate it as brand spanking new, not sure it was ever worn, not quite NOS but oh, baby!

"Right" isn't near as good - I would only rate it 9.3 out of 10, it might have been worn to church )other than this morning I mean)

There has been a great deal of discussion on this site about how to identify an Academy Award model.  Our knowledge regarding the many different watches that bear that name has grown--and continues to grow--over time, as additional advertisements are discovered and as we collectively conduct more research.  Recently, I noticed a new member getting rather confused by some old posts on the subject, so I thought a current update on where we stand may be helpful to those just getting to know this great model.

I would like to get feedback on Dial Resortation Services. And possibly, who could be a MyBulova.Com preferred vendor for dial restoration. And whether we should collectively seek a MyBulova.Com "Preferred Vendor" and special MyBulova.Com Member discount?

Hi i have a ladies 'Gilda' model think 7 jewel but really dont know any more info except number on back of watch is 5223689- not sure how to wind, open back case, date or find movement model etc. Please may someone share any info?

hello i recieved this watch in a lot of a few others..i am almost positive that it is a martha washington..the dial is mint and the case is in great shape...it doesn't run although the staff is good and probably just needs a cleaning..i was going to make it my second ladies watch to work on after i complete a ladies hamilton that also came in this lot...i was wondering if anyone here would want to trade anything for it...i don't know what i am going to do with it...my wife isn't interested,so i figure someone here might want it.like i said it is just about mint..the lady who had it used it

I'm spending some time looking for old ads.  I'm mostly interested in 1910 through 1940, but won't ignore more recent finds.

Can members give me, of the tops of your heads, publication titles (and maybe timeframes if you have a spicific for which you are looking)? 

This may be useful to all of us to share and can narrow a very wide search. I've come up w/ partial publication titles. Some sources are national, some are regiospicific. Some are "online" (so they claim).
