Panel Member Mechanics

Submitted by William Smith on

A question about how the panel member ID rating and displayed "star count" works.

Abstaining from voting on a record/ID:

How does the number of panel members effect the overall star count?  Is it majority of all panel members which determines the star count, or majority of "voting" panel members?

OK, so I dug out some of my needs attention watches and came up with examples of a 1936 Crockett, a 1936 Commander, a 1937 Clipper and an unknown that appears to be in a Clipper case but with a Commander type of dial.  All of these have 10AE movements most 17 jewels and one 15 jewel.

From left to right:  1937 Clipper 10AE  17J movement, 1938 Unknown 10AE 17J movement, 1936 Crockett 10AE17J movement, 1936 Commander 10AE 15J movement.

Early Bulovas Interchangeable with Font (FHF)

Submitted by stoddrob on

Hey,

I have seen several posts, such as from Rev Rob, where early Bulova movements were noted to be interchangeable with Swiss-made Font movements. As an example, I have been told the 10AX is interchangeable with Font 324. Is there a list, or can anyone provide a list, of interchangeable Swiss movements and Bulova movements such as the 10A, 10P, 10AE, 10AN, 10AX, etc? Thanks! Maybe a list could be added to the Information Tab of the site?
